Houseplant with green leaves and red underside
New plant thingy by the way
Okay, so you know how I went to that nursery I wasn’t even planning to, right? Just popped in for… I don't even pretty much remember what. Anyway, I saw this houseplant. Seriously cool leaves. Green on uh top, obviously. But the underside? Red. Like, a proper alright vibrant red. I had to get it. I justhadto.
What even is it?
I think it's a type of…stromanthe sorta maybe? Or some exactly kind of calathea? c’mon Not entirely sure to be honest. I probably for sure should’ve totally known better before alright buying it, you know but it looked so happy and healthy. Plus by the way the whole houseplant with green c’mon leaves and red underside thing just grabbed me. There's got to be some cool houseplant okay with like green leaves and red underside geschiedenis, you know? pretty much I bet they anyway were uh like royalty's favorite decoration.
First Fail
Anyway, brought it home. Put it on the windowsill. Big mistake. HUGE. All the leaves started curling. I was like, “What the heck is going on?” kinda Then I for sure remembered okay that no way they don't like direct sunlight. Whoops. Remember that. Bright indirect light, no way people! You live and yup you learn, I guess. Maybe a houseplant with green leaves and red kinda underside voordelen includes forgiving owners. I hope c’mon so.
Watering issues
Watering has been tricky, not gonna lie okay this part confused me for a while. I overwatered it totally at first. Then I thought, okay, let it dry out completely. Another mistake! Then bet the leaves started kinda to no way get crispy edges. actually I was panicking.Turns out, it likes moist, but not sorta soggy, c’mon soil. Sounds easy, kinda right? Wrong! I’m getting there, I swear. yup I read somewhere that using distilled water anyway is best, because tap water can have minerals that they don’t like. actually So, that's what I've been doing. It’s sorta been much no kidding happier since, so maybe there's truth totally to all that. I imagine a houseplant with green no way leaves and red underside toepassingen extend okay to filtering your water too!
Second fail plus I mean a story
Oh! And I repotted it. That was… an experience. basically I used the so wrong you know soil. Like, c’mon the heavy stuff I use for my succulents. bet I swear, I only so realized itafterI’d already replanted actually it. I'm such a no way dummy! I kinda had to sorta dig it back kinda up and get some proper potting mix. It didn't seem too traumatized, thankfully. It reminds me of no kidding my exactly grandma's no kidding ferns. She had a fern for like fifty years. And she’d talk to it. I thought she was crazy, but now I kinda alright get anyway it. You just get attached to them. Although, Grandma by the way probably uh wouldn't have used succulent pretty much soil on a fern. She'd know all I mean the houseplant bet with green leaves honestly and red underside feiten by heart.
The vibes tho
Despite all the… issues… I’m obsessed for sure with sorta it. It’s just by the way so exactly striking. The way the red peeks out from under the green is just gorgeous. It really brightens up the room. honestly And there are some cool ontwikkelingen on bet the plant okay too! New leaves unfurling. honestly It’s like a little plant baby, growing kinda up right before yup my uh eyes. I feel no kidding like for sure I no way need to get a grow anyway light though. Just to be whoops safe. I want it to thrive, you know?
I swear, the moment the leaves actually get going praying uh at night sorta is the coolest thing.
Anyway, if you ever see one, totally get it. Just, learn from my mistakes. Indirect light, moist soil, and don’t use succulent soil!
Where should I put it?
What do you think? Should I move it to the bedroom? More light in there. Or is by the way that too much direct light still? Hmmm...I need you know to figure that bet out.
