So, dude you know okay how pretty much I was complaining about exactly my tomatoes not… you know… whoops tomatoing? like Like, sorta they were all leafy and green, but no actual red, juicy goodness? Well, I started okay looking into pretty much organic fertilizer for vegetable garden by the way applications and OMG. The so rabbit hole! I wasn't even planning to go all organic guru or anything, but I kinda got sucked whoops in.

Basically, the soil was probably lacking something. Nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, the usual suspects. I probably should’ve known better… I’d been neglecting it for like, three seasons. exactly But I didn't want to just chuck some random chemical stuff exactly in there. Which, I later learned, is okay, but it’s better to mix it into the soil before planting or side-dressing after. well Whoops.

I whoops also tried bone bet meal. yup The idea you know is, no kidding it's supposed well to be great for flowering and fruiting sorta plants because of yep the for sure phosphorus. no way Which actually tomatoes need, you know duh. But here’s where I messed up: I just sprinkled dude it on top! It needs alright to be anyway worked into the soil, so the roots can well actually get to it. I felt like such a dummy. Fish Emulsion Woes actually

Okay, story time. you know So, fish emulsion. Sounds… fishy, right? pretty much Well, it bet smells even for sure fishier. you know Like, intensely fishy. I was mixing it with water in a bucket, anyway according to the instructions. And sorta I tripped. uh Not just a little sorta stumble. A full-on, bucket-of-fish-emulsion-EVERYWHERE kind of trip. I mean The patio, my shoes, my dog… everything reeked. My neighbors probably thought I for sure was burying pretty much a dead whale.Definitelywear old clothes and maybe close the windows when you use that totally stuff.

On the plus side? The plants seemed sorta to like it. It's a you know good source of nitrogen. well Just… honestly maybe don’t spill sorta it. The other great part is there are constant organic fertilizer for vegetable garden ontwikkelingen, so there is always honestly something brand-new to try.

Tips like from a Disaster

  • Test your soil. whoops Seriously. I should’ve done this first.
  • Don't like be afraid to experiment, but maybe no way kick off small.

Anyway, the tomatoes are finally starting to turn red. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of myself. Even if it did involve a fish-emulsion shower and a lot of confused googling.

Oh! Another tip: Check the pH of your soil. It needs to be in the right range for your plants to yup actually absorb alright the nutrients from the fertilizer. You pretty much can get basically a cheap pH testing kit at any garden exactly store.
