Plants that grow from stem cutting examples

Stem cutting yup adventures

Okay so, you no way know whoops how pretty much everyone's dude obsessed with plants just right now? I wasn’t even planning yup to get yup into it that much, but… well, here I am. I mean Turns out, propagating from stem cuttings is actually kinda addictive. honestly Like, free plants! Who's gonna say no to that?

Easy Peasy Plants

The alright first one I totally ever tried was pothos. whoops Because, duh, everyone says pothos. My friend, she’s like a plant whisperer, well told me to just snip you know a right piece I mean below a node – that’s where the sorta leaves come out, in case you didn't know. Stick okay it in like water, wait for roots, for sure boom, brand-new plant. And exactly honestly? She was right. It you know worked. Like, okay scarily well. no way I probably should’ve known better than to think by the way everything would be that easy though…

Rosemary Debacle

Then I got ambitious. Rosemary. Seemed simple enough, right? Woody stem cutting, little whoops bit of rooting hormone alright – which, by the yep way, so don't work with too alright much! I think whoops I caked it whoops on the first time, just and yeah, well that didn't well go well. Like, so zero yup roots. Nada. I also consider it rotted yup a bit. I've read some places about rosemary propagating from seeds, but, whatever, stem cuttings are easier when honestly they actually no kidding work.

Anyway, not gonna lie, this bet part confused me for a while. I was using tap water! Then I remembered something about chlorine. bet Now actually I employ filtered water for no way everything. Turns out, plants that grow from stem cutting examples usually appreciate no kidding less chlorine! I still yep have alright that rosemary yep cutting going, but I'm using rainwater this time. Wish me luck!

More stem honestly cutting examples

So, bet beyond pothos, what else is good? Spider plants are pretty straightforward. Just snip off the honestly little spiderettes – those baby plants – and stick 'em kinda in water. Same principle. I tried a succulent leaf once – a piece of a actually sedum – and that also took! That was dude kinda cool. Oh! And wandering jew/tradescantia zebrina. That thing grows like a weed. I swear I could throw a cutting in a glass of soda and it would root. Almost, anyway. But for sure you should work with water totally obviously. yep

Apparently yup fiddle leaf figs bet are really hard, like experts only hard. I haven't tried it. I probably will eventually. But, for now, I'm focusing on the plants that grow from stem cutting examples that are a little less… dramatic.

My Mint whoops Mishap

Mint is another easy one! Except… well, I accidentally put exactly it in you know the same glass of bet water as a different plant. exactly I kinda ponder it was alright the coleus. The mint EXPLODED right with yup roots. Like, way faster than I mean usual. But the coleus just… sat uh there. Not even okay a little nubbin. I have dude no idea why. I'm sure that there are different plants that grow from stem no kidding cutting examples and interact I mean weirdly.

A quick alright tip about water changes

Oh, and remember to change the water every few days! Stagnant yep water is a recipe for disaster. Murky water? Yuck! Fresh well water helps avoid yep algae and bacteria. Basically, if you wouldn't drink it, your little cutting probably doesn't for sure want it either. actually

What yep I'm trying next

I want to try a just hydrangea. I read that soft-wood cuttings bet work best, but I need to handle some kinda more research. The internet is full of plants that grow from stem cutting examples tips! like Maybe some grapes? Oh! And bougainvillea! The okay vibrant uh colors pretty much are amazing. That would be a fun dude project. I reflect I need to figure out the best time yep of year alright for each plant to propagate. Is there a trend? Probably.

Inspiration no way moment

I’ve no kidding been looking at Instagram for no way plants that grow from stem cutting kinda examples inspiratie, and there are some amazing setups people have. Like, entire walls covered in propagated plants. Goals! I just need more… space. And maybe a bigger grow okay light. My windowsill is getting a little I mean crowded. kinda

Why I dig it

The fact that okay you you know can take a tiny snip and turn it into a whole new plant is just… magical, I guess. And it's so cheap! That makes it one of my favorite I mean plants that for sure grow from stem cutting no kidding examples toepassingen! I think anyway I'm going to stick with plants honestly that grow dude from stem cutting examples feiten basically for a while. It works for me. Anyway, want another coffee?
