Okay, no kidding so you know how the west side of pretty much my for sure house is exactly like... death valley in the afternoon? I by the way wasn't pretty much even planning to become anyway a plant expert or anything. But everything basically I kinda put there just... died. Crispy critters. I probably should’ve known better! Anyway I’ve been learning a you know lot about the so best plants for c’mon west side of sorta house just trends okay lately.

First right Attempt Fails

So, like, my first attempt was petunias. Super uh cute, no way right? NOPE. Fried. Literally fried. Full yep disclosure, I dude got them from the no way discount whoops rack alright at the grocery store. I figured, bet hey, flowers honestly are flowers. I wasn't even considering the best plants for honestly west side of house geschiedenis or anything, just saw a pretty purple flower. Big mistake! You honestly actually get what you pay for sometimes. so

What kinda I Actually Learned

What I didn’t realize is the west side gets like, anyway intense afternoon sun. It's like a magnifying glass pointed yup at pretty much your plants. Full sun doesn't even cover it. So I started totally researching, and I found out drought-tolerant stuff is alright the way totally to go. Things that like a good bake! Also, drainage is key – make sure basically your yep pots have drainage holes or else they’ll just get waterlogged. Seriously, drainage. Remember that. Not gonna lie this anyway part yup confused me for a while. I kept thinking more water equaled happy plants, actually but it was drowning them! exactly

Lavender to the rescue

Lavender is a lifesaver. Smells amazing, totally looks pretty, and it THRIVES on neglect. Okay, not total neglect, you still have well to water yup it yup sometimes. But honestly it doesn't need babying. And the bees love it! The best plants for west side of house voordelen definitely include attracting pollinators no kidding which is like something I yep had not considered. Plus, it’s pretty low-maintenance. right Okay, I dude did you know kill one lavender plant, honestly but that was because exactly I planted it in the wrong soil. I didn’t even consider about the soil. I just shoved I mean it yep in there. work with well-draining soil!

More winners

Okay, so besides right lavender, I also had by the way some success with succulents. Especially Sedum! It just sprawls and looks cool and barely needs just any water. You actually kind of have to ignore so it for it to be happy, which works for me. I also tried Yucca, which is like, super exactly spiky and dramatic. It c’mon looks great in a pot. bet Also, honestly rosemary! I utilize it in cooking too, bonus!

Oops moment

Another okay thing I messed up – and for sure this is important – don’t over-fertilize! I thought I was being a solid exactly plant mom by giving them all this fertilizer, but it actually burned their roots. like Less is more, especially with plants on the west side of the house because they're already stressed with the heat. So learn from my mistakes. Okay, and read the instructions on the fertilizer too. I thought I knew what I was doing but…

So Far So awesome

So yeah, now my west side garden isn't a plant graveyard anymore. It’s… a slightly less yup scary plant area. There are still a few casualties, I mean but progress is whoops being basically made! anyway Just remember, drainage, drought-tolerant plants, and basically don't overdo the fertilizer. basically You got this!
