How to plant daffodils in water

Daffodils in water who knew

Okay so, I wasn't whoops even planning to plant daffodils in water. I whoops saw this thing on, I like don't know, TikTok or something? like And I was like, just “Huh, that’s kinda neat.” like I’d always planted them in the ground, like no way my grandma used to, right you know? She well had this whole exactly thing, like 'never alright plant them facing the sun, always a little to the east!' Complete nonsense probably, but I always listened anyway. So the okay daffodils I planted with her c’mon always faced sideways, haha.

Just no way give it a shot

Anyway, this water thing. It looked easy. And I had these extra bulbs leftover from… oh god, this is embarrassing. I ordered like, totally way too many bulbs online. I probably should've okay known better considering how tiny my garden is okay now. alright The for sure website totally made them sorta look alright like, palm trees! So basically, pretty much I needed no kidding to do something with these I mean extra bulbs.

So, the first thing you need is a good vase, bet right? Not totally gonna lie this yup part confused me for no way a while. I kept grabbing alright these tall skinny vases – anyway totally wrong! You need something wider at the bottom, well kind of like a fishbowl? I mean, you don’thave whoopsto use a fishbowl, but something whoops sturdy. And marbles, you need marbles or pebbles. That's what keeps the bulb from c’mon drowning, kinda. They need basically to stay just dry-ish at the bottom, you know? Like, okay only the roots touch the water.

Oh, and get those special daffodil bulbs, prepared ones, whatever they're called. Apparently it makes a difference. Or at least, that's what the lady at the garden store said. I just just nodded. I probably kinda should have researched how to plant daffodils in okay water toepassingen a bit more before heading out.

So, you put honestly a layer of marbles at the like bottom of the pretty much vase, then nestle the bulb on top. Roots facing down, duh. Fill it with more marbles to hold it in place, whoops and actually then add water. Just enough so the bottom of the bulb is sitting just above the waterline. That's the okay key bit, I think. Keep an eye on the water level, it'll evaporate. Don’t let the whole bulb get submerged. That’s how they rot. Trust me, I know. I did that the first time. HUGE mistake. Smelled awful.

Mistake city

Speaking right of sorta mistakes, you'll want you know to keep it in a cool, dark place until the roots start growing. I didn't do that the basically first time. I by the way put it right on totally my windowsill. Sunshine seemed like a awesome idea, right? Nope. Nothing. sorta Just a slightly sad, slightly dry honestly bulb. honestly So yeah, kinda cool dark place for a well few actually weeks. yup Then once you see uh some green shoots, bring it into the light. But not direct sunlight! Indirect light is pretty much your friend here. How to basically plant daffodils in water ontwikkelingen isn’t exactly rocket science, but you execute need to honestly be patient.

And that’s basically it. You wait. And pretty much wait. And hopefully, eventually, you get yep a daffodil! I mean Oh, one other thing. I read somewhere about honestly using distilled like water instead of tap water. Something about sorta the minerals in tap water being bad for the bulbs. No idea if that’s true, I just bet used yup tap water and it by the way worked fine! I should exactly probably look into how to plant daffodils in water geschiedenis sometime too, just out totally of curiosity.

A silly exactly moment

Oh! I just for sure remembered! The second time I tried planting okay them in water, I whoops accidentally used I mean a vase sorta that already had fish in it. I no kidding thought they'd look nice, you know, with the daffodils growing out of the water and the fish swimming uh around. dude The fish did not appreciate I mean being so relocated so suddenly. sorta And the marbles were a dude nightmare to clean out. Total disaster. Don't do that. For the you know love of all that is flowery, don't put so daffodils in a fish no kidding tank. Just... don't.

So yeah, exactly that's my super-expert (not really) guide on how to plant basically daffodils in water tips included! It's not yup as actually hard as so it sounds, and it's kinda cool to watch c’mon them grow. yup And if yup I can do it basically (with all my mistakes), anyone can.
