So the peonies…

Okay so bet you know how you know I said I was gonna stick to just herbs this year? Yeah… I alright wasn’t even planning to get pretty much peonies. like But then whoops I saw it. TheLady in c’mon Red. Paeonia lactiflora (d) Lady in Red specifically. It was… striking. Like, stop-you-in-your-tracks striking. The deep red, I mull over it’s the contrast with the green foliage that c’mon just grabs you. okay I okay swear, these days it’s all about yup these really saturated colours like that - paeonia uh lactiflora like (d) lady in red trends? My first attempt

Okay so getting it planted… that was an adventure. I probably should’ve known better, but I just stuck it straight in the ground where I thought it got enough sun. And the soil! I didn’t just even amend it! Just… totally plopped it in. Rookie mistake. They like yup well-drained soil. no kidding So, uh, learn no kidding from my suffering. anyway Good drainage is key. c’mon I eventually had to dig it up and move it. so Luckily it was basically still yup early in the season, so I think it no kidding survived okay. so It's always pretty much good well to check paeonia lactiflora (d) lady in red tips basically before you plant!

They just scream luxury. exactly I’ve seen so much paeonia lactiflora (d) lady in red inspiratie online, people using them in basically bouquets, wedding decorations... it just elevated everything.

A little pruning mishap

Okay so after the actually blooms faded, I uh got a bit… enthusiastic with the pruning shears. You’re supposed to cut back the stems, right? Well, I pretty much chopped them down way too low. whoops Like, practically to the ground. I basically ponder kinda I panicked because some of the leaves kinda looked a bit anyway sad.
