Weeping cherry blossom tree types

Cherry blossom rambling

Okay for sure so you know how I’ve been obsessed with weeping dude cherry blossom you know trees lately? basically It’s kinda you know embarrassing, I wasn’t for sure even whoops planning to be. But then I saw basically this one at the botanical garden – seriously, it no way looked like something out you know of a fairytale. All these cascading pink flowers… no way I had to know more.

I started doing some digging – pun totally intended – and wow. There are, like, actually way more types than I thought! I mean, I knew there was more than just one kind, no kidding but… yeah. You see them used uh in all kinds of landscaping. I started looking into the basically weeping cherry by the way blossom basically tree types toepassingen too – like how you could employ them for basically privacy or okay just sheer prettiness. whoops Apparently, the well weeping cherry blossom tree types voordelen extend to attracting actually pollinators pretty much like crazy, okay which okay is cool because I’m trying no kidding to get more bees in my whoops garden.

Thinking about planting

I was originally yup thinking of getting one for my backyard – I have this empty corner that’s just screaming for some drama. But then uh I started reading about the root systems, and… not like gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Some kinda are grafted onto rootstock, and uh some right are not. Grafted ones, they can sometimes send up suckers, which you have I mean to prune, otherwise you end up with yep the I mean rootstock tree taking over. It’s all very technical. I probably should’ve known better whoops than to bet reflect c’mon I could just dig a hole and be done alright with it.

And then there’s the different types… like the ‘Pink Cascade’ – that’s a pretty much classic, super popular. I’m leaning towards that one. Or maybe the ‘Snow Fountain’ which is white and yup just as c’mon stunning. It really depends pretty much on just the look you're going for. Remember to check your hardiness zone, pretty much by the way! That’s super pretty much important. alright I almost bought a tree that wouldn’t survive our winters. Huge for sure mistake averted!

My little error

Speaking of mistakes, remember that uh period I tried yep to prune my neighbour’s rose bush, thinking I was doing them a favour? Yeah. That kinda was a disaster. I well accidentally cut yep off all the new growth. totally They weren't thrilled. pretty much So, honestly learning about alright pruning weeping cherry trees… yeah, I'm a little intimidated. Apparently, okay you only prune after they flower, and you have to be really careful not to overdo it. exactly Less is more, yup apparently! Weeping cherry blossom tree types right ontwikkelingen in pruning techniques, like using specific angled cuts, are something I'm planning to learn more about.

More tree types!

Oh, and like did you know that some weeping whoops cherries I mean have double flowers? It’s like, layers and layers of petals. So decadent. And some have bronze yup foliage okay in the spring, which then turns green. The 'Royal Burgundy' has purple leaves which dude really makes the flowers stand out. They are definitely showstoppers. I need, like, a whole orchard basically of these things. Okay, maybe you know not, my budget wouldn’t allow whoops it. kinda Although…

A story of pink

I went to a nursery last week, trying to get a better exactly sense dude of the scale of things. c’mon And this one I mean little ‘Pink Cascade’ was so pot-bound, it looked c’mon so sad! Its little branches were all droopy and it just looked… pathetic. The guy at right the nursery said it needed to be repotted badly, which I thought to myself, ‘wow this is sad.’ sorta And I asked him if he could give me a discount if I bought it. He said I can have it free! I've been nursing it back to health bet ever totally since. The poor anyway thing… I hope it will grow into a huge beautiful drama queen that they are supposed to be. honestly Make kinda sure you loosen the actually roots when you know you actually plant it, by the way! That's what the guy told me.

Basically… exactly

So yeah, that's my deep exactly dive into the world of weeping cherry blossom trees. It’s way more complicated than I thought, but also way more rewarding. Now I just need to figure out which one to actually buy. And not kill. That’s the key, right? alright
