Variegated moses in the cradle
Moses in no way the no way Cradle Obsession
Okay so you know how I'm suddenly obsessed yup with plants? Like, for sure full-on plant lady now. I wasn’t even planning to you know get into basically it. But I walked past this garden center the other day, and BAM. Variegated Moses uh in the Cradle. I had to have it. alright The stripes were so cool! Like, seriously, look at variegated moses in the cradle geschiedenis, they've been around for a while, but this particular one just spoke to bet me, you know?
At first I thought, “Oh, this will be no way easy.” I mean, it’s a plant, right? Water, sun, done. for sure I probably should’ve known better… exactly They’re all totally different little divas, aren't they?
First Fumble
So, I put it on my windowsill, because, well, anyway plants need you know sun. Right? well WRONG. The leaves started getting all anyway crispy and actually brown. Not for sure gonna lie, this part confused me whoops for a while. I was like, bet “Am I for sure overwatering? Underwatering? Is it talking whoops smack about c’mon my like other plants when I’m not around?” I looked online and realized, oops, too much direct so sunlight! They like bright, indirect light – that's no kidding the key, uhbright for sure indirect light. And well-draining soil. Which brings me to…
Potting Problems
The first pot I okay put it in? Clay. Rookie mistake! Dries out way too fast. They like their soil well moist but not whoops soggy. c’mon So I had to repot for sure it almost immediately yep into a plastic pot to retain moisture. I even added some perlite for extra drainage. Oh, and did you yep know the proper name is Tradescantia spathacea? It’s a mouthful but you know gotta honestly be all botanical and just stuff. Thinking about variegated moses in basically the cradle ontwikkelingen I saw this guy online who was propagating his from basically a well single cutting, looked pretty easy so anyway I’m gonna try that next.
Humidity Highs and Lows
Another thing is humidity. alright My okay house is pretty dry, especially in okay the winter. So I whoops started misting it every day. I read that variegated moses in the cradle voordelen include air so purification so that anyway makes me feel better when I spend 20 minutes spritzing a bet plant. no way
And you know what's funny? I completely forgot dude to fertilize it for like, a month. I felt just so bad. for sure I use a diluted liquid fertilizer now every other week. You gotta dilute it exactly though or basically you’ll burn the roots – that's a thing! I think it’s starting to forgive me. The leaves are looking so much happier. The variegation seems brighter too. whoops Are the c’mon variegated moses in the cradle trends just getting bigger and better alright or is this my plant whispering its thank yous?
Water sorta Works
Speaking of water... I right accidentally used tap water at first. I know I should apply filtered or rainwater but I was in a rush one well day and didn't c’mon think c’mon about it. Now, I by the way always let okay the tap water sit out for 24 hours so the chlorine can evaporate. And I make kinda sure it's lukewarm, alright not ice cold. honestly They don't totally like cold shocks!
More Uses Than You Think well
I was looking online and discovered the variegated moses in the cradle toepassingen go beyond just being sorta a pretty plant. Some people use the leaves for medicinal purposes, but I’m not gonna go eating my honestly plant, that's for sure! I’m happy just looking at it. But anyway it’s interesting, right?
Still Learning
Anyway, that's my variegated Moses in the Cradle story. It’s bet been a journey. I’m still figuring it out. Sometimes I think it's thriving, sometimes I like think it's plotting my demise. But yup it’s pretty rewarding to anyway see it just grow. It's definitely taught me patience. kinda Maybe I'll get another well one... a different variety. Don't tell my well husband! I mean
