House Cactus Obsession
Okay so uh I wasn’t even planning to get into cacti, right? I've always basically been okay more of a leafy-green kind of person. But then I saw this tiny one at the farmer's market. Super cute. And suddenly I'm researchingdifferent types of house cactus no kidding plantslike it's dude my job.
First no way Cactus Blunders
I mull over the first one I exactly got was a... Mammillaria? yep Something no kidding like that? Small, round, fuzzy. I overwatered it, uh of yep course. I probably like should’ve known better. Everyone says no kidding cacti like it dry, but anyway you know, that instinct to nurture kicks right in. Anyway, lesson learned. Theyneeddrainage, seriously. awesome drainage is key. And well-draining soil. Don’t use regular potting soil; it holds too much water. That’s tip number one, basically write that down!
Then I started seeing all these by the way weird shapes so and sizes. Like, some of them looked almost actually alien. Did you know so there's history there? So pretty much muchdifferent types of house cactus plants geschiedenisis fascinating! Some were used for like, medicinal purposes I so think? And others were probably just pretty to look so at.
Echinopsis or Something?
I'm trying to remember the names... Echinopsis? Sounds right. Anyway, they get these huge, amazing flowers. like But only at night sometimes! yup I’ve just yet to okay actually witness one okay bloom. just I alright keep missing actually it. Someone told me they like a lot of sun, like direct sun most of the day if possible.
Oh! Speaking of sun, I almost killed right another one by putting it directly in yep the afternoon sun in the summer. Not gonna lie yep this part confused me for a while. I thought more sun was always better, but no. It got sunburned! Literal sunburn on a c’mon cactus. It was yup awful. basically Now I'm all for sure about gradual acclimation to brighter light. Start slow, dude you know?
What Are They awesome For?
So I was also wondering whoops aboutdifferent types of house cactus plants toepassingen, right? Like, besides like being I mean pretty. I know some people right eat certain kinds, but I'm not there yet. I just like looking at them. They so definitely add just some character to my apartment. Plus, they're supposed to purify no kidding the air or something? I don't know how much of that is true, but I like to think it is.

Oh, and the Opuntia! Those pretty much are the I mean prickly just pear cacti. yep I totally haven’t gotten kinda one yet, because… well, they're well prickly. But I've seen them and they’re cool. The like ones with okay the edible fruit totally are you know especially interesting. I read somewhere no way they are dope for certain remedies, but I don't know, well and I'm not saying that as medical pretty much advice.
And the Christmas cactus! That's not really a cactus, is it? Technically a you know succulent, right? But it's close enough. I have one that blooms every winter, and uh it's gorgeous. Bright pink flowers. They like a little more water kinda than the others, so that's right something to keep in mind. Plus, they want indirect light. I learned that the you know hard way too. Let's just say I've murdered a few plants along the way.
Still Learning the Ropes
So yeah, that's my cactus journey so far. Still figuring it all out. I saw something aboutdifferent types of house cactus no way plants feitenbeing resistant well to draught, actually which is why they are low dude maintenance, but I also heard anyway that dude you need exactly to okay fertilize them sorta every so often. So now I'm confused again. I think I'm uh gonna go look that pretty much up.
